I was actually quite shocked about the response to that little self-serving post. I had a fair number of good people responding to me about that post, giving me a little confidence boost. Then I received an email message that my post been selected to appear in the Featured Members section on the BlogHer homepage. Wha???? Okie dokie then. Wow.
Anyways, back to the update thinga-ma-jigger. (Yes I live in a house with three children, and yes they enjoy watching The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That. Did I mention I LOVE that Martin Short is the voice of the Cat? Well I do) ANYHOO...I've rowed my rickety little boat through the worst of the storm. I've found some direction. We have made some tentative plans to move. Maybe as soon as the summer if things work out. If not, in a couple years for sure. Not far, only about an hour away, but somewhere that has more opportunities for the boys, and for me. Out here in the sticks, there's not a lot of job opportunities, at least nothing that excites me.
So, paddling out of that little eddy. That may or may not happen sometime in the near future. If not, I need something to do for me. Something to keep me busy and my brain functioning while I wait. So, I've enrolled in a distance/online learning program to be a Nutritional Consultant. Its a 5-year diploma program based on part-time learning. I looked into a few different avenues, everything sounded okay, something to keep me busy, but this really caught my attention. I really became excited about it. For some reason, friends come to me for health advice. I'm always looking into healthier ways of eating, allergies, etc.
I got the first course in the mail today, and powered my way through the first lesson. May just go write that Lesson 1 exam right now! Holy geek...but I love it!
And yes, that's me...geeked out for Halloween a couple years ago.
Rockin' and rowin' on, and geekin' out.
